2 BILLION BIKES FOUNDATION
VISION
The 2 Billion Bikes Foundation envisions a world where 2 billion people use bicycle transportation daily. (1/4 of the human race)
WHY
Healthy people, healthy planet. Bikes and eBikes are a simple triple-play solution to what ails us: congestion, obesity, and climate change. Their benefits to public health and to our transportation and energy systems are well documented.
HOW 1
The 2 Billion Bikes Foundation is initially investing into solving one pain point to making cycling more sustainable: battery recycling. Lithium-ion battery recycling in the U.S. is in its infancy and has much to learn from China's deep experience and infrastructure.
HOW 2
The 2 Billion Bikes Foundation will also work on solving another pain point to more cycling: developing the next generation of cyclists by creating a youth cycling culture in China. In this area, China has much to learn from the U.S. where kids mountain bike at parks and trails from a young age as way to experience nature, build endurance, and have fun.
Partners
We recognize there are many people and organizations around the world also working on these issues. We aim to provide a tailwind to your efforts. For partnership opportunities, please contact us at partnerships@2billionbikes.org
